Creating affordable housing & building landlord partnerships

Finding affordable housing in Durham has become increasingly difficult in recent years. From 2019 to 2020, the average monthly rent for a 1-bedroom unit in Durham jumped by 34% to $1,333/month. For our most vulnerable neighbors, especially those experiencing homelessness, finding housing can seem insurmountable.

Our Housing Navigation & Location Team:
  • Develops relationships with new landlord partners to secure units that are affordable and welcoming of our clients ​ ​
  • Partners with 8 local housing agencies to support a coordinated approach to finding housing units using various incentives​ ​
  • Provides housing navigation services to HNH clients enrolling in Rapid Rehousing and Streets to Home, as well as supportive housing clients moving on to market rate rental
